So it’s February 24th. I have been in the UK since Dec 31st and the time has passed as if I only had 12 hour days. England is awesome now. I’ve had rough patches but overall, the culture is laid back in the Northwest. It’s almost like life has slowed down compared to when I was in the States. The time goes, but my heart has a slow rhythm. I haven’t been as anxious nor as impatient. My diet consists of Kebabs, fries, and more chips (fries)! So terrible for me but this is my way of enjoying my time here.
I don’t miss driving at all. As everyone knows, I have to drive all over the world to do things in Texas but now I rely on trains, buses, and cabs. It’s pretty convenient for me anyway…especially when I’ve been drinking. Plus the cab drivers always give me good conversations and a free history lesson that’s better than a lecture at university.
I have been terrible at blogging and I am tired of promising myself that I will get better. In the meantime I will post photos so you can see what I am doing. I don’t have the patience to type everything out. Believe me, when I see you I will have stories for days.
“Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry, but by demonstrating that all peoples cry, laugh, eat, worry, and die, it can introduce the idea that if we try and understand each other, we may even become friends.”—Maya Angelou
Today was a pretty chill day. Second day at Edge Hill. This has been the laziest day I’ve had since I arrived in England.
Homesickness crept up on me but it went away within an hour or two.
I walked to the market to get a couple of groceries. Home Bargains and B &M Bargains are amazing. They have Urban Therapy Twisted Sista natural hair shampoo and conditioner for 99 pence each. In America they are probably close to 10 bucks. I also bought the UK version of Ramen Noodles since I am low on cash and still wanna travel. The brand was called Koka.
Tomorrow we are going to Conwy Castle in North Wales. Should be really interesting since it is over 800 years old. Then later me and Chris will be hanging out.
